Construction
These guitars are built utilizing the lightest construction per body size and shape. 00’s and 0M’s body sizes have 1/4” X bracing. 000’s and Dreadnoughts have 3/8” X bracing. Tops are selected for grain weight and stiffness to compliment each body size. These guitars are based on Pre-war Martin and Gibson styles. Smaller 00 and L-00 guitars are built with almost flat tops for optimum low end response while the larger body guitars are built with a 42 ft. top radius. All backs are built with a 20 ft. radius. Neck construction features an old-school single action truss rod or graphite reinforcement rod for optimum tone and no dead spots. My guitars are built with hot hide glued top braces as standard; all other construction uses Tite-Bond. These guitars are built without popsicle braces, but instead use larger soundhole braces ran through through the UFB into the neck block, similar to Martin’s modern A-Frame bracing. My guitars are typically understated aesthetically. I use alkyd short oil varnish as standard. They can be done in different sheens from matte to high gloss. I typically like wood bindings and purflings, which come standard, but if you have a certain look in mind and don’t see those features below, please feel free to give me a call.
